As Keevily has prospered as a company, and helped clients prosper, it is vital to keep sight of the deep need of those who have not been as fortunate.
12 employees represented Team Keevily in the Westchester 5K Corporate FunRun on Thursday July 12, 2018. The event helped raise money for Swim Across America – making waves to fight Cancer. What a fun evening of music, eating, drinking and, of course, running or walking the 5K. The employees that participated are: Linda DeGennaro, Anne Marie D’Elia, Anthony Iemma, Donna Jordan, Cathi Joseph, Rachel Joseph, Mike McEvily, Chris McEvily, Tom McEvily, Mary McMillan, Tara Santini and Lisa Scarsella.
Because of the generosity of Keevily’s staff, we were able to send 40+ Foster children to the Bronx Zoo to become Explorers for the day through Cardinal McCloskey Community Services program.
Because of the Little Hats, Big Hearts project, The Keevily Crochet Club was born. Our crocheters will continue to make hats and scarves for cancer patients throughout Westchester County. They have also created blankets for employees undergoing surgery to help with the healing process.
Our Keevily team came together in the holiday spirit to give to the Cardinal McCloskey Community Services holiday drive. Cardinal McCloskey services adults and children with developmental disabilities as well as children in foster care and teens without support at home. They are located in Valhalla.
Every year St. Pius X Church in Scardale, provides frozen turkeys to St. Peter’s Soup Kitchen in Yonkers during Thanksgiving. This is such a wonderful act of kindness. This year 372 turkeys were collected by the parishioners of St. Pius X Church, 24 of those turkeys were from Keevily’s frozen turkey drive!
Keevily’s Jeans Friday program for charity was started in 2010 as a suggestion from one of our employees after Hurricane Matthew destroyed Haiti. Employees wear their favorite pair of jeans on given Fridays and pay to do so. Since its inception, we have raised in excess of $25,000.00 in donations to various local, national and international charities. Charities selected are those that are near and dear to our employees hearts based on their recommendations.
One of the most recent charities we supported is My Brother Vinny (www.mybrothervinny.org). Our employee Dina, is a volunteer for this organization and recommended this charity as it helps veterans as well as anyone in need. With our jeans Friday program, we were able to raise $285.00 for them. This donation was used to buy a new bed for a female veteran who had been sleeping on an air mattress for quite some time. Pictured is Dina with other volunteers getting ready to deliver the bed to that female veteran.
